In this class you will develop your English skills to enable you to communicate with foreigners in and outside of the hospital. To prepare you for work inside a hospital you will learn medical vocabulary and phrases that will help you assist foreign patients. You will also practice listening and use English in mini skits in various scenarios.
Course goals:
1. Students will gain knowledge about a variety of medical English terminology
2. Students will practice situations in which they might interact with foreigners through roleplay
3. Students will practice listening in the context of medical English
The list below includes possible target language and topics, which may be changed to better match the needs and interests of the students. Please refer to the Curriculum Map of your faculty with regard to the association of this course with your diploma policies.

Goals 1-3 will be assessed through Oral AssessmentsFeedback on the homework will be given in class. Feedback on the Achievement Tests and Oral Assessments will be given on Google Classroom. |

授業外における 学習方法及び 履修にあたって の注意事項 |
Students are required to have a notebook for taking class notes and completing homework. Students need to actively participate during lessons. Students must prepare for class and quizzes by completing assigned homework and reviewing class content. The students read the materials given by the teacher carefully for 90 minutes and answer the worksheets for 90 minutes. Students should follow the “Basic Rules for English Classes”, as well as the instructor’s “Homework Grading Policy.” Course content and grading are subject to change. |
